Virtual Mindset Donates IT Equipment, Services to
Life University in Marietta, GA

ATLANTA -November 11, 2008 -Virtual Mindset, Inc., a leading provider of outsourced IT services, today announced the donation of an enterprise-class switch, networking equipment and implementation services to the student computing center at Life University in Marietta, Ga. The new equipment will enable students in Life's Computer Information Management program to have a world-class test data center computing environment.

"The generous donation from Virtual Mindset gives our students a current and more realistic atmosphere in which to learn, and should better prepare them for real-world IT scenarios upon graduation," said John Altikulac, director of IT, Life University. "Best of all, we are providing this improved experience for our students without a capital investment."

The new test data center will allow students to gain hands-on experience:

  • Building a deploying rack-mounted servers
  • Working with different Redundant Arrays of Inexpensive Disks (RAID) configurations
  • Hot swapping components (power supplies, disk drives) on a server
  • Installing differ server-class operating systems
  • Setting up and managing different network environments and
  • Setting up and managing isolated test networks using different servers and switches.
